I've walked 100,000 steps so far this month.
A while back, I saw some fitness challenge on Instagram that was like, "walk 10,000 steps a day in September", and for some reason my mind was like, "heck yeah!" My body now hates my mind.
You know how September in some parts of the world is autumn? Yeah, not here. It's been ~100 degrees most days this week, so I've been getting up at 6:30 to walk. I hate getting up early, and I've been dead tired, but it beats the alternative of walking after work in an excessive heat warning. (I did that for a couple of days at the start of the month and it was...not pleasant.)
Me being crazy and stubborn when it comes to challenges like this, I've ended up with more than 10,000 steps most days, so my best estimate is that I've done about 100,000 so far. My feet and, surprisingly, hips, are definitely feeling it. But I'm getting that dopamine hit from completing a self-imposed task, so I guess it's worth it?
All of that to say...is it fall yet?
